International & Australian Musicians Team Up For 2018 R.E.M. Tribute Tour

A squad of international and Australian musicians are combining forces to pay tribute to legendary American band R.E.M. with an east coast Australian tour.

Members of bands like The Tea Party, The Church, The Go-Betweens and Died Pretty have announced ‘The Ones We Love: Celebrating R.E.M. (1982 – 1992)’, which will see the one-time supergroup perform some of R.E.M.’s biggest songs in theatres across Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney between August and September.

The tour, which will be pretty much the closest thing Australia will see to a new R.E.M. tour, will feature the likes of Jeff Martin (The Tea Party), Steve Kilbey (The Church), Ron S. Peno (Died Pretty) and Trish Young (The Clouds), as well as special guest Amanda Brown (The Go-Betweens).

Performing songs from R.E.M.’s 1982 to 1992 period, the group will knock out classics like ‘Losing My Religion’, ‘The One I Love’, ‘Man on the Moon’, ‘It’s The End of the World’ and ‘Radio Free Europe’.

Catch all the tour dates, ticket details and the full list of musicians involved, below.

R.E.M. disbanded in 2011, after releasing their final album Collapse Into Now.
