Jade Imagine Share New Single ‘Coastal Pines’, Announce New EP

Melbourne’s Jade Imagine have returned with a new single ‘Coastal Pines’, taken from their forthcoming EP You Remind Me of Something I Lost. The new EP follows the band’s debut album Basic Love, released last year.

“It’s a song about the head versus the heart,” explains songwriter Jade McInally. “For me, it’s the never-ending struggle between the city and the ocean pulling in two different directions.”

The new single comes with a video comprising footage the band shot on the road and edited remotely while social distancing.

“Our drummer James and I edited the ‘Coastal Pines’ clip in isolation over screen-sharing. It was a strange feeling pouring over all this tour footage from the past couple of years from the distance of our own separate houses and remembering all the amazing things we’ve been a part of. In times like these all I want to do is go home to those coastal pines,” says McInally.

“On the flip side though, if the world wasn’t so weird right now, we might not have been able to share this footage with you at all! In times like these it forces us to work with what we’ve got which, in a way, makes us more honest. I’m grateful to have the opportunity to release this clip for ‘Coastal Pines ‘containing my best friends and some of my most favourite places in the whole world. Who knows when we’ll get back there, but at least it’s nice to reminisce… ”

While obviously unable to launch the single IRL, Jade Imagine will be streaming live from the Milk! Records Instagram account this Friday, 16th May at 6PM AEST.
