Revered Chicago house identity DJ Sneak has cancelled his Australian tour, forcing last-minute changes to NSW New Year’s Eve festival Lost Paradise and Melbourne New Year’s Day festival Let Them Eat Cake. While Lost Paradise have extended set lengths for other acts on their Lost Disco stage, Let Them Eat Cake have announced a new lineup addition in British producer Jamie xx.
Lost Paradise yesterday posted a statement from DJ Sneak’s Australian tour promoter, Illusive, to Facebook, alongside updated set times. “Illusive regrets to announce that on doctor’s orders, DJ Sneak has been forced to cancel his Australian tour due to a back injury,” the statement reads. DJ Sneak was scheduled to headline the festival’s Lost Disco stage at the stroke of midnight tonight.
Meanwhile, Let Them Eat Cake posted a statement to Facebook late last night after securing their replacement act. “Although this is disappointing we are absolutely thrilled to announce Jamie xx will now be filling the void and playing at Let Them Eat Cake NYD 2015,” the statement reads.
Let Them Eat Cake has also promised updated set times will arrive some time today. DJ Sneak was set to take The Guillotine stage at 6:45pm tomorrow.
Jamie xx is currently touring the country as part of the Falls Festival and Southbound lineups. He performed at the Lorne and Marion Bay legs of the festival earlier this week, and is scheduled to play Byron Bay on Friday. DJ Sneak had no other scheduled appearances in Australia.
