Janet Jackson Is Auctioning Off A Bunch Of Personal Items, Including Iconic Outfits

Janet Jackson is chucking more than 1,000 personal items up for sale as part of a special auction going down next month.

Going down on her birthday weekend, this auction is sure to make it one to remember. Celebrating 55 years, Janet Jackson will be selling outfits, jewellery, and special trinkets from her four decade-long career.

She’s teamed up with Beverly Hills celeb auctioneer Julien’s for the three-day event. It’ll run from Friday, 14th May through to Jackson’s birthday on Sunday, 16th May.

There’s so many wild things up for auction too.

Probably the most iconic is of course, Janet’s outfit from her secret wedding to René Elizondo Jr. in 1991.

Julien’s Auctions’ Executive Director, Martin Nolan said, “Janet has never done anything like this before.”

“We’ve approached her so many times, and it has always been very hard to find anything at auction from her because she kept and archived everything.”

So naturally, there’ll be a heap of memorabilia from Jackson’s music videos and most iconic performances.

That military jacket from her 1989 film clip for ‘Rhythm Nation’.

Her Jackson Family Honors yellow costume.

And of course that futuristic leather outfit from the ‘Scream’ video with Michael Jackson.

Janet Jackson’s 1956 Chevrolet Cameo Pickup will be up for auction too.

It’ll all be displayed in an exhibition at London’s Hard Rock Cafe. The exhibition will run for five days from Monday, 19th April.

The collection will then visit New York before being taken to Los Angeles for the auction.
