John Butler Trio are back, hitting the road for their first extensive national tour dates in over four years, celebrating the upcoming release of their sixth studio effort, Flesh & Blood, and welcoming their new drummer Grant Gerathy to the fold.
Fremantle’s favourite adopted son will be playing capitals and regional centres all over the country next March and April, prior to hitting Byron Bay’s Bluesfest on 19th April. Punters can expect to be treated to tunes from the new album as well as the trio’s extensive back catalogue, with Butler himself saying he hopes his music takes fans on a journey:
“I hope it can be the soundtrack for some cool moments in their life and some shit moments in their life and I hope it can be there for them at the ebb of their energy wave and at the crest of it. In the loud times and the quiet times. That would be nice, and I think that’s what all good art’s done for me. It’s been there for me, in one way, or another.”
All shows except Hobart will feature an opening set from Brissie songstress Emma Louise, while the Western Australian dates will also be opened by The Stray Sisters, aka Vikki and Donna of The Waifs.
Tickets for all dates go on sale from Friday, 13th December, while Flesh & Blood is released internationally on Friday, 7th February.
