Khalid Shares New Album Cut, ‘My Bad’

We’re less than a month out from hearing Texan, RnB singer Khalid back up American Teen with new album Free Spirit and today he’s released his latest single ‘My Bad’.

The new track could serve as ode to introversion, or at least the struggle of needing alone time in a ~ full on ~ relationship.

Singing “Blowin’ me up, we been wilin’/ We was cool, yeah, we was vibin’/ Gotta put my phone on silent” smooth-voiced Khalid tells the story of having to flick his phone on silent when a partner is blowing up his phone, and the tension that then ensues.

So far, Free Spirit seems to be following a theme of communication in relationships.

The second album from Khalid is due out Friday 5th April and he’ll be premiering its accompanying film in selected cities around the world Wednesday 3rd April.

Free Spirit’s short film is a one night only event, the movie’s cast is made up of Khalid, Dizzy Fae, Judah Lang, Estefania Preciado, Jahking Guillory, and Edi Gathegi and attendees will get a special early listen to the new album at the end of the screening.

Free Spirit is available for preorder as of yesterday, listen to ‘My Bad’ below.
