Killswitch Engage have announced three headlining shows on the east coast of Australia for September 2024, effectively serving as sideshows while they are supporting Iron Maiden on their Future Past arena tour. The American metalcore veterans will perform in three areas that the Maiden tour is not visiting: the Mornington Peninsula, the Gold Coast and Newcastle. Dates for these shows, as well as ticketing information, can be found below.
For each of the band’s headlining shows, they will be joined by a local band from the respective region they’re performing in. The Frankston show will feature Feed Her To The Sharks, while the Gold Coast date will include Descent and the Newcastle show will feature Dropsaw.
The band were last in Australia circa 2018, where they toured in support of Parkway Drive – as well as playing their own headlining shows. The two bands have a long-standing relationship – in fact, Parkway Drive’s 2005 debut Killing with a Smile was produced by Killswitch Engage guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz. Since they were last in the country, the band have put out three releases: Their eighth studio album Atonement in 2019, a companion EP Atonement II: B-Sides for Charity in 2020 and the live album Live at the Palladium in 2021.
Killswitch Engage – ‘My Last Serenade’
2024 will mark the 20th anniversary of Killswitch Engage’s first Australian tour. There, the band were supporting Anthrax on a national tour, joined by Soilwork to complete the bill. This tour, however, was without original vocalist Jesse Leach – by that point in the band’s career, he had left the fold and been replaced by Howard Jones. Leach’s first Australian tour with the band took place as part of the 2013 Soundwave Festival.
