Korn Guitarist James ‘Munky’ Shaffer Tests Positive To COVID-19

In a statement posted to their social media, Korn have revealed that guitarist James ‘Munky’ Shaffer has tested positive to COVID-19.

In the statement, the band wrote that “Unfortunately Munky has tested positive for COVID. He is doing ok, but he will not be playing some of our upcoming shows.”

“The tour is going on as scheduled despite these circumstances, and we are anticipating a speedy recovery.”

The news comes just a few weeks after the band’s frontman Jonathan Davis tested positive to the virus in mid-August.

Korn were forced to postpone two weeks of their current US tour. However, just a few weeks after his diagnosis, Davis was given the all-clear, and headed back on stage despite “feeling very weak”.

In fan-footage posted online, Davis can be seen retreating to a throne throughout the performance to sit, whilst also supported by an oxygen-tank.
