Korn’s Jonathan Davis Takes Stage With Oxygen Tank Post-Covid

Korn frontperson Jonathan Davis is no longer infectious with Covid-19, but he’s “feeling very weak” as the band resumes its US tour.

Korn were forced to postpone two weeks’ worth of tour dates after Davis tested positive for Covid-19 in mid-August. The band rebooted its US summer tour with Staind last Friday, 27th August with a show at the Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre in Tinley Park, Illinois.

In fan footage, Davis can be seen trying to hold court from his custom H.R. Giger microphone stand. However, he was anchored by an equally elaborate throne, which he regularly retreated to throughout the performance. He was also seen taking hits from an Oxygen tank while on-stage.

Before playing the closing song, ‘Blind’, Davis said, “This is going to be the last song of the night y’all. I fuckin’ did it.” He went on to give credit to the crowd for keeping him going. “Thanks to you motherfuckers. You pushed me along. I really appreciate it.”

The following night, Korn played in Noblesville, Indiana, where an emotional Davis told the crowd, “I’m going to recover from getting Covid, y’all. That was a motherfucker.” He admitted things would be a little different, before asking the crowd, “please, just give me some energy. I need something from you guys, OK?”

The morning after the Noblesville show, guitarist Brian “Head” Welch, posted a video on Instagram asking fans to pray for Davis.

“Jonathan Davis is still struggling with the Covid after effects,” said Welch. “He’s physically weak and having a mental battle and any type of love, light and energy you can throw at him, prayers, all of it.

“We have shows coming up, so all of you guys check the dates, whatever show you’re going to, throw him some love and energy, man. He needs you more than ever.”
