Deven Davis, the late wife of Korn frontman Jonathan Davis, passed away from an accidental toxic mix of drugs, according to an autopsy conducted on her.
TMZ reports the autopsy found Deven had cocaine, heroin, clonazepam, topiramate and fluoxetine in her system when she died. Clonazepam is a sedative used to treat seizure and panic disorders, while topiramate is also used to prevent seizures, as well as migraines, and fluoxetine is a variant of antidepressant.
Deven passed away back in August, and was found dead in her home. She was 39.
Davis released a statement following his wife’s death, opening up about the mental health problems she lived with.
“I tried to hide what was going on for so long in order to protect her, but because of this tragedy that has happened to my family, I feel that now is the time to share the truth with you all,” he said.
“She is the reason I have advocated so hard for those struggling with their mental health. I want her story to inspire people to reach out for help, and not to be afraid or hide from their illness.
“If you know someone with a mental illness, have compassion and empathy, and know that they are not bad people, they are suffering. I want this to inspire change.”
