Liam Gallagher: “I’d Write [Daft Punk’s] ‘Get Lucky’ In A Fucking Hour”

Breaking news: An outrageous statement has been made by a Gallagher brother. Wait, that’s not news, that’s almost a daily occurrence. Today it’s Liam (surprise!) with the modest claim that he could have written Daft Punk‘s smash Get Lucky in an hour. Sorry, “in a fucking hour”.

“I don’t know what the fuss is about, you know what I mean?” the former Oasis and current Beady Eye frontman told Sony’s MU streaming service. “It’s like fuck off, give me a fucking break.” Ah, we’re glad he clarified that he was making a disparaging remark about the French duo – that was confusing. I mean, why would you keep releasing Beady Eye albums if you could secretly write killer electro-disco singles?

40-year-old King Liam didn’t stop there, having a crack at Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter‘s trademark helmets. “I am not going to have people wear disguises,” he said. “Take your fucking helmet off. Let’s see what you look like sans helmet, whatever you’re called.” You hear that, Daft Punk? Off. Now. Liam has spoken.

You know, it just occurred to us that reporting on this crapola is just like feeding a troll. Beady Eye’s sophomore album BE is due out 14th June and Gallagher has threatened to quit the music business if it doesn’t do well, so vote with your wallets, kids.
