Lil Nas X Delivers Iconic SNL Performance

Lil Nas X has proved he really can do it all last night on SNL. He’s served up the spiciest ‘MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name)’ performance, recovered from a pole-related wardrobe malfunction, and debuted a powerful new single.

The ‘MONTERO’ performance kicks off in peak queerness: horny AF choreographed dancing and assless chaps. It escalates to Lil Nas X reenacting Satan’s role from the ‘MONTERO’ music video.

The rapper eventually pole dances, splits his pants and manages to improvise for the remainder of the song.

An iconic performance.

Next, Lil Nas X debuts his new single ‘Sun Goes Down’. It’s a powerful song about his struggles as a Black, gay man.

Nas wears a white suit with two bloody gunshots on it while singing lyrics like, “Always thinkin’, “Why my lips so big? Was I too dark? Can they sense my fears?”

“These gay thoughts would always haunt me / I prayed God would take it from me / It’s hard for you when you’re fightin’ / And nobody knows it when you’re silent”

‘Sun Goes Down’ is out now and arrives with a music video as well. Catch it down below.
