Lil Nas X’s Claim of Liberty University Acceptance Denied by University Spokesperson

American rapper Lil Nas X finds himself embroiled in a new controversy. The Grammy-winning artist announced on Tuesday, 9th January on Instagram that he had been accepted to Liberty University for the fall 2024 semester, pursuing a Dual Concentration in Christian Leadership and Biblical Studies.

The announcement came with the picture of an acceptance letter from the conservative Christian institution, Liberty University which was met with scepticism from some fans. Lil Nas X, however, insisted the acceptance was legitimate, expressing his excitement about returning to academic life.

Liberty University Denied Lil Nas X’s Acceptance Letter With A Statement

Liberty University denied Lil Nas X’s claims, stating that they did not issue the acceptance letter and have no record of him applying to the university. The posted acceptance letter was signed by former Liberty University president Jerry Falwell who passed away in 2007. Dondi E. Costin currently holds the position of president.

Liberty University officially confirmed this via a statement “We can confirm that Liberty University did not issue the Montero Hill ‘acceptance letter’ posted yesterday to social media, and we have no record of Montero Hill applying to the University,” The University Spokesperson said.

As the controversy unfolds, the audience is now left questioning Lil’s motives and whether this is another attention-grabbing stunt or a genuine attempt at academic pursuit. The artist has not yet responded to the university’s statement.
