Lineup For Red Bull’s Official Splendour Pre-Party Announced

Happy campers heading to this year’s Splendour In The Grass festival will be able to pop the cork early, thanks to the return of the Red Bull Music Academy’s official pre-party.

The shindig will push the play button the night before the sold-out festival officially kicks off, dishing up a fresh batch of first-rate electronic talent on the Red Bull Music Academy stage.

Punters can serve their Splendour pre-drinks with a side Sydney beatmaker L D R U and Splendour returnee Yahtzel (who are both performing solo DJ sets), with a dash of KLP, Slumberjack, Swick & Lewis Cancut, Elk Road and young gun, Just A Gent.

Following the news that stage headliner, Jay Electronica, has been forced to cancel his Australian tour, the peeps at Red Bull Music Academy HQ have also unveiled a worthy replacement in the form of prolific American rapper Knxwledge, whose previous collaborations include hip hop dons Kendrick Lamar and Joey Badass. He’ll take the stage on Saturday night.

With the 17th edition of the Red Bull Music Academy set to take place in Paris this year, Splendour is also in for a piece of the action, with organisers promising to “pay homage to the French capital” on the stage, by “evolving into a contemporary, cutting edge creative space that will transport you from the land of Splendour to the City of Light”.

The official pre-party kicks off on Thursday, 23rd July, at the North Byron Parklands festival grounds.

Other acts primed to take the stage at Splendour proper include beatmaker Shlohmo, Melbourne’s Total Giovanni, duo Willow Beats, Adelaide house producer Motez, Melbourne rapper Baro and many more.
