Listen: Lady Gaga Leaks Unheard Collaboration With Kendrick Lamar

Overnight, Lady Gaga has leaked via her Twitter account a previously unheard collaboration between herself and rap prodigy Kendrick Lamar. Unfortunately, it’s not a new track, but rather a version of Bitch Don’t Kill My Vibe with Gaga singing the chorus.

For those of you who are currently digging not only the track, but also everything else found on good kid, m.A.A.d city, will know that the actual version of the track mainly consists of Lamar’s vocals. According to Consqeuence of Sound, Lamar labelled Bitch Don’t Kill My Vibe as his ‘Lady Gaga record’ and has also confessed that time constraints were the ultimate reason why the track never made it to the album. “That situation was a deadline situation. We had to meet these pre-orders. I was frustrated about it. My team was frustrated about it, but at the same time, we had to move forward.” Lamar later said to MTV.

The two have been musically linked previously; however, that collaboration was equally as ill-fated. Partynausous never made it to an album either, after what appears to have been some meddling label reps rubbing Gaga the wrong way, as she said in a recent post on her website: “When I collaborate with an artist, I work solely with them, not with their camps or management. It’s purely organic and creative. I love Kendrick dearly as a friend, but was not willing to compromise musically to the changes his team was making to my music.”

“This is why I am not [on] his record. I have a very specific vision as a producer and songwriter, and I always have,” Gaga added. “That song will be released at a different time, for a different project. I love you, and think you should check out his stuff because he is truly great. He’s a good kid, it’s just sometimes a mad city.”

Kendrick Lamar will be on his way Down Under soon, with more tickets on the market now after an almost instant sell-out.
