Battles have released a new single from their latest album Gloss Drop. The track features electronic music pioneer, Gary Numan, who, when asked about working with the New York math/experimental rock group said “Working with Battles was an easy choice for me. They have a unique approach to making music and a clear idea of what they want. They are inventive, adventurous, unpredictable and I’m proud to be involved.”
Other artists who will feature on the new album include, Yamantaka Eye of the Boredoms, Kazu Makino of Blonde Redhead and disco artist Matias Aguayo.
Last month, guitarist Ian Williams spoke with triple j and hinted that the band might be making their way to Australia at the end of the year, possibly for a round of New Year’s festivals.
Williams told Triple J: I think we’re talking about coming down there at the end of this year, so we’re talking December, January time. Maybe New Year’s Eve territory. So, we’ll be there.
The single will be released on the 15th August on Silver 12″ Vinyl.
