The Flaming Lips finished off last year with another collaboration EP, this time with experimental art rockers, Yoko Ono’s Plastic Ono Band. 2000 multi-color, 12″ EPs were pressed (600 of them glow in the dark) and sold at their Oklahoma City New Year’s Eve show, which the Plastic Ono band opened. The four songs have been put up for streaming online.
This wraps up a good year of collaborations for the Lips, releasing EPs with Neon Indian, Prefuse 73, and Lightning Bolt. As well as finding new ways to release their own material.
