Ice T can now add feminist icon to his already impressive resume. Together with his fearsome thrash metal group Body Count, who recently made their return official with a new album titled Manslaughter, Ice has paid tribute to the ladies that he sees in the mosh pit every night on tour.
“Every time we do a show, you’re always staring at that mosh pit and there’s usually that one girl in there or a couple of girls in the middle of the mosh pit and they’re very interesting,” he told Revolver. “This is a way I could dedicate a record to the girls that go to the rock concerts and go hard… It’s kinda like a true story. It’s an homage to the girls that really get in the mosh pit with the guys.”
The track’s release comes days after Staind frontman Aaron Lewis made headlines for chewing out a crowd at the Rockfest music festival in Kansas for “molesting” a teen crowd-surfer. Lewis levelled an impassioned and expletive-riddled tirade at the crowd, calling them “fucking assholes.”
