Listen To King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard’s New Single ‘O.N.E.’

Everyone’s fave psych rockers King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard have shared a new single with us today. ‘O.N.E.’ is the second single taken from their forthcoming album, L.W.

King Gizzard’s ‘O.N.E.’ comes with a music video too. It’s a trippy animation that combines real imagery and footage of the band with Monty Python-esque illustrations.

It was shot by Ambrose Kenny-Smith while the project’s director Alex McLaren edited the footage into the video it is now.

“The song itself feels as if it’s constantly moving along so I tried to keep the visuals continually moving forward and sliding into different visual styles and landscapes,” said Alex McLaren said in a statement.

“I felt the mix of stop motion and collage through the use of found imagery and the band would help compliment the tracks lyrics and themes as I interpreted them, of dreams, nightmares, climate change, dystopias, and utopias, as well as referencing events that took place during the making of the video over 2020.

“All video of the band was shot by Ambrose during the second lockdown restrictions and I had to give notes on shooting and direct remotely which was strange but so was everything during that period.”

While it was initially rumoured that the new album would be arriving Friday, 26th February, the band has confirmed that is not the case.

Frontman Stu Mackenzie says, “King Gizzard’s new album (y’all know what it’s called) is definitely not coming out in February.”
