Rap and rock have collided in the very best way this morning. Run The Jewels have teamed up with Royal Blood to deliver a remixed ‘The Ground Below’.
‘The Ground Below’ is lifted from Run The Jewels’ RTJ4. The original definitely had rock inspo throughout with thumping percussion and guitar sounds.
So, when remixing the track with Royal Blood, it’s become something else entirely. Royal Blood’s Mike Kerr sings around the bars in the track, “Your love never meant much to me!”.
The guitars are heavier and grungier and the percussion is turned down a bit, to make way for the pristine vocals.
