Listen To The New Concrete Surfers Single ‘Eat The Rich’

Brissy band, Concrete Surfers have shared a new single, ‘Eat The Rich’. It’s a big F you to the Aussie government and their lack of support for the arts through the COVID-19 pandemic.

“It sort of stemmed at the beginning of COVID lockdowns in Australia,” explains Concrete Surfers.

“Just to see the lack of overall government support for industries such as tourism, music and arts and hospitality made me angry that a country (that is quite wealthy) couldn’t give transparent support to industries that contribute so heavily to the economy.”

“So it’s a bit of a fuck you really.”

‘Eat The Rich’ comes with a music video too. It sees the band dress up like ~rich people~ and make a cheap tinnie their yacht.

“As a band we thought it would be fitting if we did a yacht rock style film clip,” says the band.

“We wanted it to be ironic and comedic with wearing the white suits that are common with these videos, with the juxtaposition of using cheap tinnies in a dirty creek.”

‘Eat The Rich’ follows on from April single ‘Driving’. It came with an equally chaotic music video.

The Brisbane band is gearing up for the release of their next EP, which is due out later this year.
