Listen: Trent Reznor and Karen O cover Led Zeppelin

As anyone with a facial piercing or an abundance of black clothes knows, Trent Reznor is following up his Golden Globe winning soundtrack for David Fincher‘s The Social Network with… that’s right a soundtrack for David Fincher’s The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.

Where The Social Network soundtrack saw the Nine Inch Nails founder, songwriter and only permanent member exploring his ambient tendencies, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo looks set to offer up some more song-based fare, or so this trailer featuring Reznor and Yeah Yeah Yeah’s frontwoman Karen O covering Led Zeppelin‘s 1970 hit Immigrant Song suggests.

Working once again with Atticus Ross, this soundtrack is the second installment in what looks like it may be an ongoing relationship between Reznor and Fincher, and recalling the great music/film partnerships of the past such as Lynch and Badalamenti or Morricone and Leone (not to mention trying to avoid recalling some of Reznor’s later work with both NIN and How To Destroy Angels) I for one hope to see a lot more collaboration between the two.
