Live Music TV Show The Set, Will Return To Screens This August

The ABC have today announced that their live music show, The Set, will be returning to screens on Wednesday, 28th August for the show’s second season.

Co-hosted by triple j’s Linda Marigliano and Logie Award winner Dylan Alcott, the pair will be joined on by a huge lineup of Aussie and international artists.

For those unfamiliar with the show’s format, it’s filmed live in front of 250 people. It’s essentially one big house party. Three artists will be featured per episode and will perform their original music in the show’s purpose-built house and backyard. The show is rounded out by ‘The Set Piece’, a coming together of all of the acts for a one-off musical collaboration.

Speaking of the show’s return, Alcott said “I am absolutely stoked for Season 2 of The Set and can’t wait to work on the show with my great friend Linda Marigliano! Everyone associated with this show is passionate about live music and entertainment on Australian television and wants to provide a platform to promote the very best current and emerging music talent.”

Marigliano said “Dylan and I couldn’t believe it when our TV parents said we could throw another house party, and not only that, we’re throwing a bunch! This show is a dream to work on, the mixture of charisma and chaos between artists and audience is pure gold. We cannot wait.”

Last season featured artists like The Presets, Vera Blue, Baker Boy, Wafia and more. It’s yet to be announced who will feature in this forthcoming season.
