Lorde’s ‘Tennis Court’ Video Without Music Is Terrifying

While omitting the music from Mick Jagger and David Bowie‘s 1985 Dancing in the Street video merely enhanced the silliness already present in the video, this new Lorde edit is something different altogether. This music-less Tennis Court edit makes the stylish video downright scary.

“Turn up the volume and feel uncomfortable. Yeah,” read the instructions left with the unsettling clip by its creator, YouTube user MrHammn. Readers can check out the Tennis Court music video without music below, but just don’t say we didn’t warn you when those nightmares come a-hauntin’.

The ‘music videos without music’ craze was kickstarted by audio engineer Mario Wienerroither, who created the Bowie-Jagger clip, as well as edits of Nirvana‘s Smells Like Teen Spirit, The Prodigy‘s Firestarter, Queen‘s I Want To Break Free, and Ok Go‘s iconic Here It Goes Again clip.
