A selection of local Australian bands have been announced as support acts on Mastodon‘s upcoming Australian headline tour.
Mastodon will have a different support act for each of their three shows in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane with each band hailing from the respective city. Twelve Foot Ninja will open for the band in Melbourne, Breaking Orbit will warm up crowds in Sydney and Caligula’s Horse will support in Brisbane.
The support acts represent some of Australia’s finest heavy rock and metal bands. Twelve Foot Ninja have just returned from a massive 30-date tour supporting Los Angeles metal band In This Moment showcasing tracks from their 2012 debut Silent Machine.
Breaking Orbit have had a mighty few years off the back of the release of their debut album The Time Traveller in 2012. Last year they supported Dead Letter Circus around Australia and also impressed on their own national tour.
Caligula’s Horse have also been killing it of late. The band are also embarking on a national Australian tour as support for German metal band The Ocean in April, armed with an impressive new single A Gift To Afterthought.
This will be Mastodon’s first-ever headline tour in Australia. Check out the dates below.
