A bunch of Aussie rock legends will transform into the ultimate Beatles tribute band in honour of Abbey Road‘s 50th anniversary.
The Antipodean Rock Collective (ARC) — comprised of Powderfinger‘s Darren Middleton, Jet‘s Mark Wilson, You Am I‘s Davey Lane and Spiderbait‘s Kram — will unite once more to tour the country performing the iconic 1969 LP in full.
Arguably the most successful supergroup in Aussie rock history with 33 ARIA Awards and 16 Top Ten ARIA albums combined, this allstar crew of self-confessed Beatlemaniacs will perform the beloved record from start to finish, followed by a selection of tunes from across The Beatles’ vast and legendary catalogue.
They’ll be playing a handful of national theatre dates in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane this August, and joining them live on stage will also be a bunch of special guests in the form of Ash Naylor (Paul Kelly, Even and Rockwiz), Linda Bull (The Black Sorrows, Vika and Linda Bull), Brett Wolfenden (The Pictures, Jim Keays) and James Fleming (Eagle and the Worm, Bob Evans).
Abbey Road of course was The Beatles’ swansong, released on 26 September 1969 by Apple Records, it was an immediate smash and is still widely regarded as one of the greatest albums of all time.
Catch all of ARC’s dates in celebration of its big 50th birthday.
