Milky Chance Tease January Festival Tour

German duo Milky Chance say that they’re looking at heading our way early next year to showcase songs from their debut album Sadnecessary. Speaking recently to The Doctor on Triple J Drive, songwriter Clemens Rehbein said the pair are eyeing festivals in January to make their debut.

Clemens said fans will be able to hear songs like the band’s international hit single Stolen Dance live “next year in January.” “We’re looking forward to coming to Australia to play some festivals,” he added. “I have heard that they are very nice. So hopefully we’ll play some festivals in January.”

Speaking on Stolen Dance, which currently sits at number two on the ARIA charts, Clemens said the “special thing” is “I wrote the chorus three or four years ago, and then the verse came two years later. All the other songs I write come together in a week, or two weeks, or a day. It’s like puzzling. It’s a very crazy process and it’s just about putting the pieces together. Sometimes it’s very hard.”

Clemens’ comments puts the pair in the running as contenders for the 2015 instalments of Big Day Out, Falls Festival, or St Jerome’s Laneway Festival. The organisers of Laneway have already begun fuelling speculation on their 2015 lineup, telling fans to look to their SXSW recap for clues.
