MØ Pulls Out Of Falls Festival & Field Day, Cancels Sideshows

UPDATE 29/12/16: Field Day has announced a replacement act following MØ’s cancellation of her festival appearance.

UPDATE: Sydney New Year’s Day festival Field Day has also confirmed that MØ will no longer be able to perform at the 2017 event. Organisers say, “We expect to announce a new act soon.”

ORIGINAL STORY: Danish singer-songwriter has pulled out of Falls Festival on the same day that the event is kicking off in Lorne, Victoria, but a replacement act has already been announced.

In a statement posted to Facebook, MØ says, “Sadly due to illness I am unable to fly to Australia and perform at Falls Festival. Over Christmas I was struck with pneumonia, and doctor’s orders are that I don’t go on a long flight like that and that I remain home to recover.

“I’m crazy fucking upset to be missing the festivals and shows + devastated to let down the people who had been looking forward to my performance. These things suck so bad.

“It makes me very, very sad tho, coz cancelling is the worst thing and 1 of my new years resolutions last year was to not cancel any shows in 2016….. I’m gonna try again in 2017! I love u Oz and I’m so, so sorry. I hope u can forgive me and I’m gonna make up for it I promise!”

MØ was also set to play two Falls Festival sideshows in Sydney and Melbourne next month, but both shows have now also been cancelled, with refunds set to be issued.

Meanwhile, Falls Festival has managed to secure masked Sydney producer Tom Stell (AKA Golden Features) to replace MØ on this year’s Falls lineup.

MØ is also currently named on the lineup for Field Day 2017. Music Feeds has contacted the festival for comment regarding MØ’s spot on their roster.
