More Than 140 Field Day Punters Charged With Drug Offences

Revellers at Sydney’s New Year’s Day celebration Field Day may not have had 99 problems, but a bitch was most definitely one of them, with sniffer dogs helping police charge 140 people with drug offences at the festival.

Just under 20,000 people turned up at The Domain to kick off 2014 and catch live acts including Flume, Solange, London Grammar, Wiz Khalifa and A$AP Rocky, but New South Wales police have confirmed that drug offences were rife at the one day event.

A pair of men, aged 18 and 20, were caught with over 35 ecstasy tablets and a large sum of cash, with the duo set to face court in February. Another 22 attendees were ejected from the event, mainly due to disorderly conduct and intoxication.
