Multiple Deaths At Concert In Austria After Gunman Fires Into Crowd

A gunman has shot and killed multiple people at an outdoor concert in western Austria.

As The Guardian reports, Austrian police say the 27-year-old gunman fired shots into the small crowd, killing two people and wounding 11 others before shooting himself to death near the town of Nenzing, around 40 kilometres east of the border with Liechtenstein.

Police say the shooting began after the gunman and a woman were heard having a loud argument in a nearby parking lot. The man is said to have retrieved a gun from his car before leaving the parking lot, going to the concert venue and shooting into the crowd of around 150 people, supposedly at random.

Austrian state broadcaster ORF says the shooting took place on property which is used by a motorcycle club. Police are continuing their investigation.
