Muse Share Images And Video From New Album Sessions

Muse fans can now rest easy, as the band have taken to their newly minted Instagram account to confirm that they are indeed working on their highly anticipated seventh album. The band have begun sharing images and even video to their social media channels, documenting the new recording sessions.

Last week, drummer Dom Howard made headlines after christening his new Instagram account with the mysterious tagline, “Seven day countdown to album number seven.” Fans immediately took to social media to debate whether the band’s follow-up to The 2nd Law could be coming in seven days.

However, it now appears that Howard’s tagline merely indicated when the band would hit the studio to begin recording sessions on the as-yet-untitled album. The band have spent the last few months writing and rehearsing for the new record, which currently has no expected date of release. “If we can get something out this year, that would be great, but definitely next year,” Howard told interviewers in May.

The images on Instagram depict band members in the midst of recording sessions, including footage of frontman Matthew Bellamy recording guitar over Howards’ drumming, though no guitar work is heard in the clip. In another image, band members are shown listening to “some FAT bass distortion”.

Bellamy has been keeping busy on his personal Twitter account, regularly updating fans on the progress of the new album. The singer and guitarist recently revealed that Muse’s new back-to-basics album will deal with themes of “deep ecology, the empathy gap and World War 3” and will feature guitar solos.
