Touring in support of the vinyl release of their latest album Little Joy, Melbourne minimal trio My Disco have just announced their first and only tour of 2011. This is no standard vinyl reissue mind you, the deluxe double LP version of the album will come with it’s own 24″ x 24″ poster, etched vinyl as well as a MP3 download, with a limited number of green and white swirled LPs available.
The bands third album, Little Joy enjoyed heavy praise from critics and fans alike, many declaring it the bands finest work yet.
Reeling back the sheer stark and brooding minimalism of their previous Steve Albini produced album Paradise, Little Joy saw the band working with producer Scott Horscroft for the first time, tracking with Albini again at his studio Electrical Audio in Chicago resulting in the band further exploring their unique style.
Having just come off a hectic run of shows playing with the likes of Holy Fuck, Wire and Crystal Castles and currently on tour in Japan, upon rounding out their Australian dates the band will be heading over to the US for an extensive tour before heading over to Europe, so be sure to catch one of these shows as it might be the last time you get a chance to see them in a while.
