My Friend The Chocolate Cake tour and album

My Friend the Chocolate Cake are heading out on the road stopping at regional and major cities across the country as part of the Stopping All Stations Tour.

Melbourne musician David Bridie first found his audience with his band Not Drowning, Waving in the early 80s. Around about the time they were breaking up Bridie was putting together a stellar line up of musicians to create My Friend The Chocolate Cake.

My Friend the Chocolate Cake turn 21 this year and to mark such a special occasion they’ve released their 7th studio album Fiasco. One of the quiet achievers of Australian music My Friend the Chocolate Cake beat out the likes of Tommy Emmanuel and Wendy Matthews for the 1995 ARIA award in Best Adult Contemporary.

Sitting somewhere on the edge of alternative pop and classical, the band perform emotive musical pieces that move from subtle chamber instrumentals to frayed acoustic pop and songs of wry observation.
