Neil Finn Is Recording A New Album With Some Surprise Guests & Live-Streaming The Whole Thing

Crowded House legend Neil Finn has just hit us with some very interesting news. He’s recording a brand new album with some surprise guests and plans to live-stream the whole process to fans.

The rock icon took to Twitter to make the big announcement in a video, explaining that his new LP will be called Out Of Silence and feature some “friends, family, excellent singers” and “serious musicians”.

Broadcasting from New Zealand’s Roundhead Studios, the mythical singer-songwriter revealed that he’d be meeting with his collaborators at the music hub every Friday in August to workshop the new LP, which will include a few “old” songs as well as some brand new material.

Interestingly, he also signalled plans to set up an interactive element for fans to weigh in with feedback and help shape how the final 11-track album comes together, ahead of one final recording session on the 25th of August which is set to be live-streamed to fans as well.

“You can all watch, listen as we lay it down in about three hours,” Neil explains. “It’s all gonna happen in this room, we’ll be fun. Good people, good sounds.

“Watch us make it. Watch it develop, follow the progress. See you there.”

No word on the identity of any of his mystery collaborators yet but his use of the term “family” implies that his bro & Crowded House bandmate Tim could be involved!

Either way, colour us intrigued!
