The super-influential music of Tim Buckley and his son Jeff Buckley is to be celebrated at a world premiere concert event in Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney this September. The A State Of Grace concert will see a team of world-renowned musicians come together to honour and enjoy the music of the Buckleys.
The artists performing at A State Of Grace are The Church’s Steve Kilbey, Canadian-American folk-rock Martha Wainwright, Efterklang‘s Casper Clausen, American singer-songwriter Willy Mason, Ireland’s Camille O’Sullivan and Somali-Canadian singer-songwriter Cold Specks.
A State Of Grace is being overseen by Gary Lucas, the New York guitarist and composer who worked closely with Jeff Buckley, and who co-wrote his songs Grace (below) and Mojo Pin.
“The music of Jeff and Tim Buckley is timeless and gracefully transcendental,” Lucas says. “It lives forever in the hearts of those who have been touched by it. And it will continue to reverberate around the globe and seduce new listeners.”
Lucas will act as musical director, and will be backed by his renowned New York ensemble, Gods and Monsters. A State Of Grace will also feature images and stories relating to Tim and Jeff Buckley’s accomplished but complicated lives.
A State Of Grace: The Music Of Tim & Jeff Buckley, will kick off in Melbourne on 23rd September. Full tour and ticket details are available below.
