New Festival The Pleasure Garden Announces Debut Lineup

UPDATE 5/12/16: The Pleasure Garden has unveiled the third and final lineup announcement as well as the full set-times for the festival.

ORIGINAL STORY: Brand-spanking-new Melbourne music festival The Pleasure Garden has announced its maiden lineup, which is topped by local cats The Cat Empire, super-funky New Zealanders The Opiuo Band and rising Melbourne muso Tash Sultana.

Coming to St Kilda’s Catani Gardens this December, The Pleasure Garden is also set to host performances from the likes of London duo The Correspondents, Aussie beatmaker Spoonbill, voice artist Dub FX and Melbourne outfit Jakubi. More acts are still to be announced, but the first round lineup is available in full, below.

The first-ever Pleasure Garden is billing itself as creative and immersive, with themed stages, art installations, roving theatrical performances, carnival rides, boutique food and unique cocktails to go along with its diverse lineup of tunes.

The festival will also utilise new sound technologies in order to give punters the best possible sound — we’re talking tech which allows for pre-emptive 3D sound modelling and mapping, as well as delay towers and multiple speaker stacks. Oh and there’s rear-facing noise-cancelling subs and acoustic panelling to prevent noise spill as well.

The inaugural Pleasure Garden festival is set for Saturday, 10th December. Catch the event’s full first round lineup alongside ticket details, below.
