If you’ve ever found yourself going back and watching Gorillaz greatest hit videos and wishing that you could watch the incredible animation in HD; your wishes have finally been granted.
In anticipation of the release of their new album, due out sometime in 2017; the Damon Albarn-headed project have begun to upload a series of their classics to YouTube in full 720p HD.
So far, just Feel Good Inc. 19-2000 and Clint Eastwood have been re-uploaded; but there will surely be more to follow. Keep an eye on their YouTube channel here.
In terms of the new record, Gorillaz collaborator Jamie Hewlett recently confirmed its release date had been pushed to 2017, but promised fans it would be “really fuckin special”. Vic Mensa is also rumoured to be working on the album after he was spotted in the studio with Remi Kabaka Jr., the voice of Gorillaz’s fictional drummer Russel Hobbs.
Guess we’ll have to rely on these classic hits, to tide us over until more new album details emerge.
