Oasis Share Details Surrounding Upcoming Doco, ‘Oasis Knebworth 1996’

There’s a feature-length documentary on the way that is centred around Oasis‘ legendary two night run at the famed Knebworth Park. It’s being released to commemorate 25 years since the concerts.

The Jake Scott-directed documentary, set to be shown in cinemas globally from September 23, will showcase arguably one of the biggest concerts in the UK in the 90’s in all of its restored glory. It will feature never-before-seen footage from the show, the fans, and a heap of backstage folley.

The film was produced by Black Dog Movie and executive produced by Noel and Liam Gallagher.

Noel has previously spoken about the doco on the record, describing it as “fucking outrageous.”

“I did get quite emotional watching it. The sound is fucking great. Liam is at his absolute peak, looked great with great clothes, sounds amazing. And of course being that close to that band, you kind of perceive it differently to everybody else.”

The sold out shows, which took place on August 10 and 11, 1996, boasted a quarter of a million punters.

Following the release of the doco will be an accompanying live album, according to Noel.

Liam said in a press release:

“Knebworth for me was the Woodstock of the ’90s. It was all about the music and the people. I can’t remember much about it, but I’ll never forget it. It was Biblical.”
