Oh Mercy are returning to play some Australian tour dates this September and October. They’ll be touring on the back of their third and most colourful album to date, titled Deep Heat. The tour will kick off in Brisbane on 21st September at The Zoo, and continue through most capital cities until they reach Darwin on 27th October.
Recently playing a number of successful North American shows, which saw them travel 13,450 kilometres in a tour van, Oh Mercy moved into the Family Farm – a beautiful homestead-turned-studio on the banks of Lake Oswego just outside of Portland. Between games of Mario Kart and episodes of Law & Order SVU, many cans of Pabst Blue Ribbon and exercise sessions in a makeshift gym, the new album started taking shape.
Being described as having elements of Roxy Music-esque swagger to pulsating first single Drums (the product of a heavy Jorge Ben binge), Deep Heat is modern, forward-thinking pop – a colourful mix of styles all held together by a singular groove.
Their first single Drums will be released on 13th July. Deep Heat will be released on 24th August.
