One Of Prince’s Guitars Is Going To Auction

Prince was never one to be seen with just a regular guitar, rocking some of the most stylistically weird and wacky guitars over his career.

Now, less than a month after his tragic death, one of his guitars is going to auction with a starting bid of $30,000 US dollars.

The unusually shaped yellow guitar will go to auction on Beverley Hills on 24th June and will no doubt sell for far more than the starting bid price.

According to Star Tribune, it was used by Prince in the ’80s and ’90s to perform tracks like Cream and Gett Off.

“I’ve been a Prince fan since I was a little kid, and that guitar always stuck out to me because it was super cool and stylish,” current owner Richard Lecce said of the guitar.

Lecce further noted that the item has become far more valuable since Prince’s death which is why he’s giving it up.

“I think something as valuable as this could be too risky to continue to have in my possession,” he said.

Lecce doesn’t play guitar and has barely used it beyond taking a photo with it when he got it. It’s said to be in pristine condition.
