Opeth Announce Australian Tour Supports

Swedish progressive metal heroes Opeth have named the five lucky acts who will open the five shows on their upcoming Pale Communion Australian Tour.

Post-rockers sleepmakeswaves, progressive metal outfit Dyssidia, progressive rock band Caligula’s Horse, doom metal outfit Myridian and Perth’s Voyager will support the mighty Opeth at one show a piece.

Taking to Facebook, Voyager have shared their excitement following today’s supports announcement. “For several of us in the band, this is an absolute honor and a dream come true, as they have been a band who have made significant impact in our lives,” the group say.

Echoing that on their own Facebook page, Caligula’s Horse say, “It’s an absolute pleasure and privilege for us to play alongside some of our musical heroes.”

Opeth are set to tour the country this May in support of their latest studio album, Pale Communion. The tour will see the group perform tracks from their huge 11-album discography in Sydney, Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth, beginning on 3rd May.

Opeth last toured Australia in 2013, behind their 2011 album Heritage. Details of their Pale Communion Australian tour and support slots are available below.
