Another act has pulled out of the upcoming OutsideIn Festival with organisers announcing that Sweden’s HNNY will no longer appear at the event “due to personal reasons”. Making up for the loss, the festival has recruited revered Melbourne electronic act Cut Copy to perform a headline DJ set at next weekend’s event.
“Sweden’s HNNY has unfortunately had to pull out of his Australian tour due to personal reasons (our thoughts are with him at this time),” festival organisers said in a statement on Facebook.
“Whilst this is disappointing for us and his fans, we have some MASSIVE news to share by way of his replacement – Almost 2 years since their last DJ performance in Sydney, one of Australia’s most revered electronic acts Cut Copy return to headline the courtyard stage with a DJ Set at this year’s festival.”
The appearance is timed with the recent release of Cut Copy’s Oceans Apart mix compilation, a 19-track exploration of Melbourne’s dance music scene released with an accompanying documentary. Cut Copy DJs join an OutsideIn lineup that also contains The Pharcyde, Seekae and Giraffage.
The news follows the lineup switch made just a few weeks back when it was announced that Client Liaison and Rome Fortune are no longer performing the event and had been replaced by Oscar Key Sung and Andras Fox as well as “heat beat” funk collective NO ZU.
Cut Copy will also take HNNY’s place at the official OutsideIn afterparty to be held at Goodgod Small Club, presented by adidas Originals. They’ll be joined by Melbourne dance act Tornado Wallace and will be supported by Sydney’s own Ben Fester at party after the festival on November 29th from 11pm.
