Sir Paul McCartney has officially announced his first Australian tour dates in almost 25 years.
The Beatles and Wings legend will bring his ‘One On One Tour’ down under this December, for some huge shows in Perth, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. McCartney revealed the dates in a Facebook Live chat with Tim Minchin which is currently still live.
The ‘One On One Tour’ has already made its way through the United States, Canada, Argentina and Europe, and has seen Sir Paul perform lengthy sets featuring material from across his career.
McCartney hasn’t performed in Australia since 1993’s ‘The New World Tour’. He was scheduled to perform down under in 2002 but cancelled the tour following the Bali bombings.
“We’ve been waiting to get back to Australia and New Zealand for years and now it’s finally happening. It is very exciting,” McCartney said in a statement. “I’m really looking forward to the concerts as we’ve always had such a brilliant time whenever we’ve been before so we know we are in for a treat. Can’t wait to see you and all rock out together.”
