Phoebe Bridgers has appeared on CNN to discuss her 2020 success and her SNL performance. While there, she was asked about her tweets about Marilyn Manson.

Phoebe Bridgers had tweeted in the wake of the Manson allegations. She said Manson had a “rape room” in his house.

Speaking with Bridgers, CNN’s Christiane Amanpour asked if she thinks enough is being done by the music industry to keep these people accountable.

“Yeah, I think it’s never enough,” she responds.

“I think it’s very funny that Marilyn Manson’s label decided to drop him right when the story went public and people have just known about it for so long.

“I find that very annoying. I think it’s a lot of performative activism, basically.”

“It doesn’t matter how many people know about it,” she said. “You should look into things like you’re the FBI. But when people make people money, it’s hard, I know. It’s really hard to walk away from that. But more people should.”

Of course, Phoebe Bridgers was asked about the guitar smash while she was there.

“I’ve always wanted to do it. Then when I mentioned it to the show they were really excited and they built me this whole monitor that would look like it was exploding, even if I wasn’t hitting it that hard,” she told CNN.

“So yeah, just a bucket list thing.”
