Surprise! Phoebe Bridgers is the next artist up in the Spotify Singles series. Her stint in the booth saw her record two tracks for the streaming platform.
The first is a rerecording of her Punisher single, ‘Kyoto’, which features fellow singer-songwriter, Jackson Browne. The second is a cover of John Prine’s ‘Summer’s End’.
The pair have actually already played Bridger’s track together earlier in the year for the 2021 Tibet House US Benefit Concert. That was Bridger’s second time performing at the annual event.
Her Spotify Singles performance comes as part of a week-long series of performances from nominees up for best new artist at the Grammy’s, which will take place next Sunday.
Five artists in total will reimagine some of their hits as part of the series, with D Smoke, Noah Cyrus and Ingrid Andress yet to perform, and Bridgers and Chika having already performed.
