Phoenix Central Park Season XIII: Party Dozen, Beckah Amani + More

Phoenix Central Park has announced its new season of performers, on the day their current season ends (June 27th) with a performance from Body Type. The boutique Sydney venue will return next month for Season XIII – a full run-down of which can be found below, along with ballot information.

As is custom with Phoenix Central Park events, the performers will play two 45-minute sets in one night: One at 6:30pm, and another at 8:15. Entry to either performance can only be accessed by being drawn in a ballot, which can be entered on the Phoenix Central Park website.

Opening the venue’s season of performances is Party Dozen, the noise-rock Sydney duo who recently announced their fourth studio album Crime in Australia. The show will serve as a preview of the new material ahead of the album’s release in September. Closing the season, meanwhile, will be Asteroid Ekosystem – a side project of The SaintsEd Kuepper, alongside The Necks‘ Lloyd Swanton, pianist Alister Spence and drummer Toby Hall.

The program also features several artists making their Australian debut – among them Norweigan saxophonist Bendik Giske, Estonian electronic artist Lolina and Asian-Canadian visual/performance artist Sin Wai Kin – who will be performing in collaboration with Sydney’s Rainbow Chan.

2024 has been a busy year for the venue – including both its 11th and 12th seasons. Among those that have performed there this year are  Laneway stars DOMi & JD Beck, English singer-songwriter/DJ Nabihah Iqbal, New York no-wave singer/poet Lydia Lunch, Melbourne indie band Armlock, former Snakadaktal/Two People frontwoman Phoebe Go and Hot Chip‘s Alexis Taylor – the lattermost of which was added to Season XII last-minute.
