Pixies Unveil New Music Video For ‘Andro Queen’

Grunge progenitors and indie legends The Pixies have unveiled a new music video for their track Andro Queen. The romantic new track is the follow-up to Indie Cindy, both of which come off the band’s recent untitled EP, their first collection of new material in 22 years.

The dreamy, reverb-laden track is accompanied by an equally dreamy and psychedelic video, directed by US filmmaker Ondi Timoner, a two-time winner of the Grand Jury Prize for Documentary Features at the Sundance Film Festival, best known for her rock documentary DiG!

The famously videophobic band — stunts used to get out of filming videos include slowing down 23 seconds of footage to fill four minutes and just opening their mouths so as not to bother with syncing — don’t appear in the video, with another band serving as surrogates for the indie heroes.

The band also recently announced an extensive US tour, which will see them travelling to 33 American cities, with support acts Beast Coast, Cults, and FIDLAR in tow. It follows their current European tour. Readers can check out the video for Andro Queen below.
