PREMIERE: All Our Exes Live in Texas – ‘Tell Me’ Video

Sydney outfit All Our Exes Live in Texas have done what all good Americana-influenced acts do, and channelled some obviously severe break-up trauma into their art. The result is, surprisingly, an hilariously violent, cameo-filled, no-holds-barred soccer match, the emotional and physical pain scrutinised frame by frame in the video clip for debut single Tell Me.

The cathartic four-a-side match sees Sydney musos Elana Stone, Katie Wighton, Hannah Crofts and Georgia Mooney — as All Our Exes Live in Texas — take on Grinspoon’s Phil Jamieson, Bluejuice’s Jake Stone, and local TV stars Lawrence Leung (Offspring) and Jackson Gallagher (Home & Away) as slo-mo recreations of some intensely awkward relationship red-card moments play out in parallel.

Jamieson’s look of disgust at Elana Stone’s gold-mining indiscretion is worth the price of entry alone, though top marks have to be given to Jake Stone’s clam-related comeuppance. The lesson? If you play the game, you’re probably gonna get hurt. Check out our video premiere below.

Released earlier this month, Tell Me is the first single from All Our Exes Live in Texas’ upcoming debut album. It’s an impressive lead-off, a well-polished, catchy-as-all-hell slice of folk pop, swimming in deceptively sweet harmonies.

The Sydney quartet formed just a year ago, but with an EP already under their belt and four experienced and unique singer songwriters in the one band we can safely expect big things from their first full-length.
