Brisbane-based octet The Steele Syndicate have dropped a brand new music video for their slinky new blues-funk-rocker ‘Ours’.
Premiering exclusively via Music Feeds below, the clip sees the genre-benders suiting up for a heist, and the object at the centre of their theft… is time itself.
“While recording this song we often joked it sounded like a tune that could be used for the opening credits of a Mission Impossible-esque TV show. That actually helped to shape the production of the video clip and plus, we just like running around pretending to be spies,” the band tell us.
“On a deeper level, the video clips tells a story which parallels the intrinsic message of the song,” they continue. ‘Ours’ is a call for young people to turn our passionate feelings about today’s biggest challenges into positive change: showing the ‘time is ours’ to do something. The contents of the box at the centre of the heist is up to the viewer’s imagination. We envisage it contains the point of most particular social or political concern to the individual who opens it, really emphasising that the video clip is a fanciful illustration of us taking matters into our own hands.”
To celebrate the fresh release, TSS will be heading out on tour this June & July.
