High lord of cool, the artist formerly known as the artist formerly known as Prince has just launched his official Instagram account, PRINCESTAGRAM. Because of course that’s what it’s called.
Mostly full of shots of him playing live or starting moodily into the camera with smouldering eyes that command “worship me”, he kicked things off with some top notch meme game poking fun at himself.
Not sure how long this one will stick around as we have all been burned by Prince’s rocky romance with social media before after he deleted his Facebook and Twitter accounts after less than a year back in 2014.
He was dearly missed though, and judging by the gram so far it looks like we might have some more purple magic from the Purple Rain singer soon enough.
Meanwhile, you can watch the famous Chappelle’s Show Prince sketch her below, and have a leaf through this gallery of his best moments from Facebook and Twitter.

It hasn’t always been a storied romance between Prince and the internet. Consider that time he forced a mother to take down a YouTube video of her toddler dancing while Prince's 'Let’s Go Crazy' played in the background. Just look at that face.
Or even when he filed a $22 million lawsuit against a group of fans who posted Prince concert videos on Facebook.
Or that time he famously told the Daily Mirror that the internet, like MTV, is “completely over”.
But then Prince made his spectacular Twitter debut.
Then followed that up with this, his sophomore tweet.

The meme began on Twitter earlier this year, attached to photos mirroring the image of Prince and Apollonia riding a motorcycle in the 1984 movie Purple Rain.
Then the real magic. Prince unveiled onto the world the insane cover art for his single, 'Breakfast Can Wait', featuring one Dave Chappelle. Game: Blouses.
Prince answers just one question in Facebook Q&A. The first one. About sound frequencies.
Prince's proxy Twitter Q&A. Ever wonder whether Prince likes hugs?
Apparently not. But he likes to be held.
This is how Prince stays fit you see.
Prince finally revealed what is inside “The Egg” - a building at his Paisley Park Studios.
